Introducing: Alternative Ceremonies UK

Gothic wedding ceremony alternative wedding fair leeds

We’re just 2 months away from the TilDeath Gothic Luxe wedding fair on the 22nd January and the excitement is unbelievable. We have a whole host of unreal wedding suppliers joining our ranks ready to swoop in and rescue you from wedding nightmares.

It is our mission to help you do away with customs that are no longer relevant, and to embrace the most meaningful aspects of your day. And what better way to do that than with your own Alternative Ceremony? Ellie , Alternative Ceremonies UK, is joining us at the TilDeath Weding fair so we thought we’d help you get to know all about how she can help you create the perfect wedding ceremony.

What do you do?

I create unique alternative weddings, handfastings and commitment ceremonies for alternative people. I specialising in Pagan weddings and handfasting ceremonies; Norse, Goth, Steampunk and many more.

How did you get into this?

When we were planning our own Goth wedding we realised we didn’t have the choice to create a wedding that reflected us. We had to settle for a standard, unimaginative and irrelevant to our lifestyle register office wedding. We had to say the same vows as every other couple and our music choices weren’t allowed.

What’s the process of working with you?

It’s a simple one; get in touch by email, text, WhatsApp, social media or call and we can arrange a video call or an in person meeting (distance permitting) to see if you think I am the right celebrant for you.

How soon do people need to book you?

I work UK wide and get booked up quickly for certain dates, such as Halloween and Pagan festivals, so if you require a certain date please get in touch asap.

What’s the best part of what you do?

Every time I have created a ceremony for people which is more that their achievements I feel such a great sense of achievement. I have been featured in various publications and it’s always an honour to win genuine awards, but my greatest achievements are knowing those I create ceremonies for love them.

As a celebrant tutor and mentor for over seven years, seeing those I have taught to become a celebrant being successful is also an achievement. Knowing I have taught and guided others to create ceremonies for people is both humblig and amazing.
